Arkansas Home Builder Wins National "Green Building" Award

Wednesday, August 08, 2007

I'm happy to announce that Stitt Energy Systems, Inc. has won two "green building" awards so far this year!

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) "Best Model Green Home Building Guidelines Home of the Year" award and the Kansas City Homes & Gardens magazine?s"2007 Best Green Home of the Year" award were both presented to us in March.

David and Karen Stitt's Craftsman-style home, located in the energy-planned and sustainable community of South Sun Estates, won the NAHB Green award. Homes had to earn at least 395 points to earn a "Gold Rating", but David and Karen's home scored whopping 503 points!

Mike and Shauna Zahner's modified Prairie-style passive solar home, located in the Kansas City area, fits beautifully into an older established neighborhood. It incorporates such outdoor conservation features as rainwater harvesting and xeriscaping and is the second home designed and built by Stitt Energy in the past two years to win the KCH&G "Best Green Home of the Year" award.
