The 2004 Arkansas Energy Code for New Building Construction is a combination of the 2003 Edition of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC 2003) with Arkansas Supplements and Amendments to the 2003 International Energy Conservation Code. The new code went into effect on October 1, 2004.

Chapters 4, 5 and 6 of the 2003 International Energy Conservation Code offer different methods to achieve code compliance for low-rise residential construction. Chapters 7 and 8 of the International Energy Conservation Code 2003 offer different methods to achieve code compliance for commercial and high-rise residential construction.
